🚀 Network Engine Overhaul (PonMi Edition)

Cross-network link validation for Spikeout FE is now complete. We have achieved a "Liberation from Lag" in 2-link play, and even under the heavy load of 4-link sessions, the response time now far surpasses previous versions. By fundamentally re-engineering packet behavior, we are redefining the standards of netplay.

• Zero-Stress Sync: 2-Link play achieves near-LAN performance.
• Multi-Link Stability: Drastic latency reduction in 4-Link sessions.

Note on Performance: > For the best results, manually set PowerPCFrequency = 57. In testing, this value outperformed the "Auto" setting, which may cause heavy processing lag.

Results vary by line quality. Testing was performed on Spikeout FE over separate ISP networks, spanning 10 hops as verified by Wireshark.

This screenshot shows the scanline effect enabled.
Horizontal scanlines are drawn to simulate the look of a classic CRT display, giving the image a more authentic arcade feel.

• Scanlines are based on 480 horizontal lines
• Line thickness adapts to the selected resolution
• Brightness is controlled via config.ini
• Default toggle key: F4 (can be reassigned)

The image is rendered cleanly without any CRT-style processing.

• No scanlines are applied
• Useful for comparison or personal preference
• Toggle scanlines ON/OFF instantly with F4

📘 Notes

• If you choose a resolution that is not evenly divisible by 480, the scanlines will still appear, but the pattern will differ and may look uneven.
• Because scanline thickness changes depending on resolution, perfect results are not guaranteed at all resolutions.
• Dynamic brightness changes during runtime are not supported at this time.
• Adjust scanline brightness manually in config.ini.
  

Recommended brightness settings:

• Lower resolutions: around 0.8
• 1080p: around 0.7 (author’s personal preference)

• 解像度に応じて走査線の太さが変化
• 明るさは config.ini で設定

📘 補足説明

• height が 480 で割り切れない解像度を使用した場合、縞模様は出ませんが、走査線は480本にはなりません。
• 解像度ごとに走査線の太さが変わるため、すべての解像度で完璧な見た目にはなりません。
• 起動中にスキャンラインの明るさを動的に変更することは、現時点では対応できていません。
• 明るさは config.ini で設定してください。
  

おすすめ設定（目安）：

• 低解像度：0.8 前後
• 1080p：0.7 前後（作者の好みです）
